Health & Safety Protocols

The safety of our students and colleagues is our top priority. To create a safe environment for your student, we're taking guidance from national, state, and local government agencies as well as similar industries. Our health and safety protocol is summarized below. Please let us know if you have any questions or need additional information.

General Information

  • As much as possible, we will schedule lessons in such a way where instructors stay in the same classrooms.

  • We will provide disinfectant cleaning materials for instructor use at MLP.

Face Coverings/Masks Are Not Required

We have reviewed industry policies as well as school policies, and as a result will follow local public school policy on masks. For private lessons, instructors will wear a mask at the family's request.

Before Arrival

  • Students must be free from fever for 24 hours without medication. They must also not have any flu-like symptoms or be exposed to anyone with flu-like symptoms.

  • Please be sure your student is feeling well and is ready for lessons.

  • Your cooperation in keeping everyone safe is vital; if your child feels at all sick, please keep them at home.

Before the Lesson or Class

  • Private lessons: The instructor will meet your student in the lobby. Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby or in their vehicle.

  • Group class students may wait in the lobby until class time. After your student enters for class, please wait for your student in the lobby or in your vehicle.

After the Lesson

  • The instructor will escort your student back to the lobby. Note that we do not provide supervision outside of lesson/class time so please ensure you are ready to receive your student at the end of the lesson. Feel free to arrange the best way to do this with your instructor (receive a text, etc.).

  • The lesson/class room will be tidied between lessons.

Other Safety Measures

  • Our staff will also be following health screening guidelines to ensure their own health and that of our students.

  • We use EPA-approved disinfectant to clean and sanitize our facility, including all rooms used for activities, and all public spaces like restrooms and lobbies.

  • We have GermGuardian UV-C light air sanitizers in every room.

  • Our HVAC units have UV-C light air sanitizers and microban technology.

  • HVAC will be in use to keep the air moving in every room.

  • We frequently disinfect high-touch surfaces like door handles, light switches, and instruments.

  • We have hand-sanitizer dispensers in each room.

  • Water fountains and water cooler are available; please bring a water bottle to use them.
